As part of the second district meeting mental health workers, which brought together 400 children and adolescents from all localities to disseminate coordinated actions by line 106 in this issue, the District Department of Health presented the achievements of the last year by the specialist advisory service aimed at children and adolescents in the city.
During the past thirteen years, the line 106 has become a forum for communication of children and adolescents in the city, which promotes good treatment and mental health. In these years of operation, the line has made nearly 80 000 operations, for the care of children and adolescents.
In the first half of this year, the line carried 14,889 interventions for children and adolescents, of which 13,428 were carried out using the telephone, mailbox 126 through the town of Samaras and 1461 through Chat.
This rise is due to the enlargement that has taken the line in 2010, which increase the number of professionals, which also expanded the line from 12 to 15 hours of care and the empowerment of the chat from earlier this year, has enabled more children and adolescents, are aware of the service.
Currently operates 7 days a week from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, and is staffed by child psychologists in providing work to support and intervene through counseling activities, support, reporting and referral of events that affect the quality of life of children to social services network.
Reasons for consultation within causes frequently called are Application Support networks with a rate of 16%, Family Conflict with 14% and situations that teenagers believed to be responsible for the problem and its solution a ratio of 14%.
Given the promotional nature of the line as a support network, children and adolescents not only talk about their problems but also on positive experiences at a rate of 7%, application of health information and experiences 7% related construction of their sexuality 7%.
Moreover, children who communicate with the line, talk about what happens in the context in which they spend most of the time, being 6% of the reasons for calling, situations have occurred within the school with peers, teachers or relatives.
