What happens when an average, ordinary bunch of footballers gets motivated and prepared to do something special? That is the question that Nivea is trying to answer with its Great Football Experiment. The experiment is one that looks at the value of preparation. Nivea is trying to take Ivory F.C., a team of standard Sunday footballers, and turn them into a top-flight club. These are regular Joes who are out of shape and don’t have the greatest level of skill. They are competent, but certainly not top of the table material. Nivea wants to change that.
So can Nivea do it? The answer is probably yes. As the folks at that company understand, life is about preparation. Being prepared is one of the most important things that you do no matter if you are a football player or any other person in the day to day grind. Ivory won a competition and was chosen as the team that Nivea would give its all to. Nivea is putting its resources behind the club, giving them whatever they need as they prepare for this challenge. The most important of those resources is quality coaching, as this can make all the difference in football.
Any English football fan has heard of Terry Venables and most know of Ray Wilkins, as well. These are the two FA coaches that are looking to do something with this ordinary bunch of players. Football is very much a game of fitness, so they are trying to turn this team into one that can play at a high level for the full 90 minutes. Whether or not they are successful in this venture will go a long way to determining just how well Ivory can play when it is put up against the ultimate challenge.
That challenge will come in the form of a great team of legends. Ivory will take its talents up against a bunch of footballers with more skill and experience. Nivea is looking to take its Ivory club to the top of the league, though, and knock off the legends at the end of the Great Football Experiment.
